Hiatus Over

So, I guess I went dark for a bit. With summer travel and my 30th birthday in August, I kept procrastinating on blog posts and new recipes. Honestly, I kind of let a lot of my hobbies and good habits slip over the summer. Firstly, I stopped eating Paleo because I was traveling so much and because August was my birthday month and I wanted an excuse to eat all the goodies. Once I stopped eating Paleo, I found myself slipping a bit with the exercise. I was in this great routine of going to Orange Theory Fitness at least 3 days a week (5 on a good week) and occasionally hitting the late CorePower Yoga classes when I could squeeze them in during the week. Fast forward a couple months and my less-than ideal fitness regimen and food choices are definitely weighing on me (and in more ways than one - if you know what I mean). It is time to take back control of my life and make the choices that are going to make me happier and more balanced. So with that, Hiatus over.
In an effort to course-correct, I'm taking baby steps first and setting larger goals for myself balance of year. Today, I took the first step by going back to a yoga class and heading straight to Whole Foods Market afterwards to stock up on some healthy ingredients. I'll be cooking some less-guilty, Paleo meals this week inspired by Juli Bauer of PaleOMG because sometimes we all need a little help from our friends to find the motivation we need.
In addition to getting back into the habit of eating healthier, you'll be able to find me at Orange Theory early in the mornings this week and in CorePower Yoga Classes on the weekends (and maybe, I'll even find a way to slip a few classes in during the week!). I've signed up for CorePower Yoga (CPY) Teacher Training as a way to get me to my mat more often, to deepen my practice, and to help me on my search for balance before heading into the busy Holiday season (stay tuned for posts on CPY Teacher Training once I start mid-October).
And lastly, just because it was a rainy Saturday and I needed a pick-me-up that was a little less-guilty, I made Juli's Almond Butter Blondies (Link here) served with Coconut Ice Cream.
These Almond Butter Blondies are absolutely heavenly and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a little-less guilt as they are trying to get back into a healthier lifestyle.
